Chef Eddy's Time-Saving Baking Tips
  • You don’t have to tackle an entire baking project in one day. Take it in phases: mix and freeze one day; bake another.
  • Have extra frozen cookie dough on hand. If an unexpected holiday guest arrives, you'll be able to whip up a batch of cookies in no time.
  • Buy your ingredients ahead of time, including your Imperial Sugar or Dixie Crystals Redi-MeasureTM Brown Sugar.
  • If you forget to soften your butter or you don’t have time for it to soften, cut it in small pieces and melt in the microwave for 15 seconds.

Memories & Stories

Imperial Sugar Company,
Well, here’s what I remember about learning to cook. It was back in 1941 and there were 3 younger children at home. Mother was sick so I had to cook. Dad was helping at the shipyard. I made my first biscuits. Back then we used lard from hogs so you can see I’ve been at it a long time. My grand and great grandchildren really love Mama's Biscuits, which I make when they all come home.

Thank you so much,
Mae C. Thaggard
